The Dragon Takes What's His(31)

“Sorry. I shouldn’t be so rough with you,” Blaze said, stroking his thumb across Zack’s cheek. He looked down at his little girl. Still snoozing away, oblivious to anything and everything happening around her.

“It’s okay. I liked it.”

It wasn’t lost on Blaze the way Zack’s fingers stroked her back. With her little yellow onesie, she really was perfect.

Blaze groaned.

“What’s the matter?”

He shook his head. “I’m fucked. I can already tell. She’s going to wrap me around her little finger. She wants me to buy her something, I’ll have to buy it. Boys come knocking on the door when she’s a teenager, I chase the little fuckers away from her. Girls, too, if it turns out that way. I don’t care.”

Zack chuckled, his eyelids becoming droopy again. “You’ve got literally years before you have to worry about that.”

“I wonder if I can get her into baseball or something. Maybe soccer.”

“Exercise, health and fitness, and fun. I can learn to play soccer with her.”

“You’re going to turn her into a little sporty girl and hope she doesn’t get interested in boys?”

“At least not until she turns thirty.”

Zack chuckled again.

Blaze ran his fingers through Zack’s hair. The man was getting tired again. Blaze could tell. “I can take her back to her crib.”

Zack nodded, though he seemed to do it sleepily. “Can you bring her crib in here?”

Blaze couldn’t deny his mate the request.

He pressed another kiss to the man’s mouth. “Sure thing, whatever you need, sweetheart.”

The corner of Zack’s mouth pulled up again in another tired smile. “I could do with you telling me you love me again.”

Blaze’s heart soared. “Baby. I don’t just love you. I worship you.”

He kissed his daughter’s head softly. “Both of you. Now hurry up and recover. We need to name her.

Zack nodded again, but with his eyes closed, as though he’d already drifted off to sleep with that lazy smile on his face.
